Unit 12 NM Rifle Elk

Hey everyone, I got lucky and drew a Unit 12 NM rifle elk tag. I’m super excited but I’m active duty and moving next week to AL. I will be too far away to get to scout the area before the hunt in person. I have been e-scouting and I was able to make one quick lap through part of the unit. If anyone has any experience with this unit I would love some insight.

I’m not looking for honeyholes or anything like that just some advise on where I should focus. Should I look in the flats, the hilly stuff, where the tree are thick, etc? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Im focusing mainly on the Southwest part of the unit as that is where most of the public land is.
