Made a trip to the river with Ernie last week in search of a different underappreciated fish than @rwc101 ’s green sunfish. Anticipation was high to start.
Later, anticipation waned.
Finally, some success was celebrated.
“We” only caught a couple small ones that day, but I would add common carp as a fish people don’t appreciate enough for the fun angling they can provide. They fight above their weight class, are usually cooperative to taking bait, and have a cool look to them I think.
