two poached bulls

What the hell is broken in the human brain to do such?
Hopefully, our wardens are able to investigate this around their 1/3rd non law enforcement week...

Such a bummer. Two fantastic bulls, no mas.

Looks like 2 closer to being within herd objective numbers.

If those would have been cow elk, probably wouldn't even be an investigation, surely not a newspaper article.

I wonder at the trolls that have to get their 2 cents worth of political angst into every thread.

I hope someone turns in the poachers and they get more than a slap on the wrist.

I'd like to think that not true Buzz. But I get where you are coming from. mtmuley

Sad to see , people do stupid stuff , yesterday evening I had to call the police to protect some elk and people , on the way home close to where I live I spotted a herd of 60 plus Roosevelt’s feeding through a farmers field headed for the freeway and late rush hour traffic, lead Cow just wasn’t gonna stop , 2 state Troopers finally showed up and ran them back up the hill, last year a heard crossed close to that spot and when they realized they had nowhere to go they got splattered coming back across the highway a few day later 13 elk in all where killed by one truck , wish I could have gotten pics of the festivities last night , but it was 2 dark , like to think I saved the life of some elk and after last years fiasco of dead elk all over the Hwy , they where quick to get Troopers on the secne and prevent the crossing, last year it was to late , they crossed at night when nobody saw them
Coming.

Such a sad moment to see these great animas destroyed. Someone dream smashed and photos for many others. Staked to an ant pile would be to gentle for the dumb ass that did this.

You must be from Missouri....

Go further south, that's Alabama race fuel right thar

In all seriousness, I lived and hunted all around Atlanta and every once and while you would run into a group of these fools. Usually around an all night bonfire

Individual Responsible for Two Bull Elk Shot in Blaine County Has Been Identified, Wardens Thank the Public

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 6 game wardens affirm that due to good people coming forward with good information, the individual responsible for the two bull elk killed in Blaine Co. last week has been identified and interviewed. Charges are pending in the case.

Region 6 wardens would like to thank the public for their TIP-MONT phone calls, comments, and Facebook shares, and would also like to thank media outlets for helping to spread the word on this crime.

The 1-800-TIP-MONT program is a toll-free number where one can report violations of fish, wildlife or park regulations. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 for providing information that leads to a conviction.

On Feb. 14, 2019, Region 6 Havre wardens had received a TIP-MONT call about a dead bull elk approximately two miles north of Cow Creek Reservoir off Lloyd Road in Blaine Co., about 30 miles south of Chinook. Wardens responded to the area and located a seven-by-seven bull elk. Another dead six-by-six bull elk was then found nearby. Wardens determined both elk were shot and left to waste on the hillside, and continued the investigation while seeking help from the public for information.
