Anyone use these or something similar? It would be really nice to have wood heat in the winter, but for most of my trips a wall tent isn’t worth the set up effort or the drying afterwards.

This seems like it would pair well with my Riley stove. What are the pros and cons of a floor? Would you something for the stove to go on with a floor? It would seem so.

Something like this seems like it would work quite well for multi day rafting trips too.

Looking for ease of setup solo, wood heat, easy to pack down and dry later, not terribly heavy or bulky.

Thoughts?

This is my neighbor’s son. GREAT PEOPLE.

We looked at it hard for the family tent replacement, but it isn’t big enough for that use. Would be awesome for a one man chukkar camp set up.

Been using SO Courthouse for 5 years when I need to save space or weight, but still accommodate people and gear. It's become the go-to over my Springbar due to ease of setup and portability. Similar weight and cost with that teepee. Originally bought it for pack trips with the mules. I keep using it more and more due to portability and ease of use. That teepee looks like it would offer similar ease of use and portability.

I tried and didn’t really like a seek outside tipi for a heated truck camp when I didn’t want to bring the whole wall tent. This tipi looks like a much better fit for that type of camp and I’d be interested to try one. Looks like you’d still be able to use a cot and chair, which makes a big difference in comfort.

The courthouse is legit I love mine. It’s about 4 pounds lighter also do you just want the canvas to hold heat in?

Any idea if they can put a stove jack in these?

Cause any tent your drying things out I bet that canvas takes a lot longer to dry out

I really like a flex bow tent with a diesel heater. Everything sets up super fast.

I have a SO courthouse, won it in a raffle. I haven’t used it yet but may during third season. I’m usually pretty mobile though so it might stay in the truck again this year

How long does it take to setup?
Idk solo 15 min it’s not horrible. I’m not trying to push it on you just kinda curious on why get a canvas tee pee. Heat retention makes since but I wonder how much it actually holds. I bet those synthetic dry 10x quicker thought

My one knock with the tipi style and stove is that most of your usable space is near the center of the tipi, but the stove takes up a lot of real estate in that zone to keep it a safe distance from the sides. We didn’t find our SO super workable with the stove, and dog, and gear.

I picked up a little Kodiak Flex Bow, put a jack in it, and added a Nu-Wave propane stove. Leaves a lot more usable space. I picked up a cheap NordicWare rimmed cookie sheet to set the stove on, and then you can put either a small welding blanket or even a folded towel under that to shield the floor. A friend has been using this same setup for years with no issues.

I had a canvas teepee tent for a while. It was 10 by 10 square with no vertical walls. It kind of sucked. They need 2 feet of vertical wall to have any room in them. With a stove in it there was surprisingly little space. The walls would get wet and sag till there was little clearance around the outside. We packed it in with horses once and I found it pretty unimpressive, like too small with 2 people and no cots. The door on the slope works well when it is nice out but not when it is raining or snowing.

Set up was quick and the floor kept the wind from getting in it so I think it would have handled wind better than a wall tent, but I never used it in strong wind. I have spent a couple of nights in one of the new teepee style ultra-light tents and it was slightly better for room because it didn't sag like the canvas one but they too sacraficed the best space in the tent for the stove.

Someone on here recommended this company on a different thread a few weeks back.

I’ve been thinking about getting one.

Sounds like one person can set it up fairly quickly.
