Time for the Bear thing again....

It's been quite a few years since the scope quivered on a jet black hide. Suggestions for this fall ? Probably could do a week. Who cares where.

Why wait till fall? Spring bear hunting is more fun IMO. The hides are better, meat doesn't taste quite as good but usually ok. I think its easier to find bears in the spring than in the fall also.

And not having to pack the meat out can make it a bit easier on logistics for someone travelling quite a ways to get to ID.

Hunters are required to remove and care for the edible meat
of big game animals, except black bears, mountain lions and
gray wolves.

That's shameful and great fuel for the anti's...

You know you still have to pack the head, evidence of sex and the entire hide out and present the whole thing to F&G...even though all they want is the smallest tooth in their head.

I think most people I would imagine would come out with the quarters and most of the meat but then again I could be wrong

The rule was changed a few years ago but most of the bear hunters I know still bring out meat and hide.
