Ticks

They are thick where I ride my horses. Their lower limbs have them crawling all over them after a ride. After the first time, I stopped riding the stretch through some taller grass. It did not help nearly as much as I hoped.

One 8oz bottle of this mixed with 1.5 gallons of water. Soak my outer layer of hunting clothes & wring them out then allow to air dry. I do this once in the spring with all turkey & upland clothes, again in the fall with all upland clothes. Any leftover goes in a spray bottle to apply liberally to vests, etc. I haven't found a tick on me in years, although I'll occasionally find a dead one stuck on clothing.

The dogs get a monthly topical called Vectra. Kills ticks on contact. I think its better than having the tick have to bite the dog to be effective and prevents hitchhiker ticks.

Jesus they are getting bad here! I average about ten per week the last two weeks. No time in the woods whatsoever were talking a bare dirt jobsite. I have never seen so many in my life.
