Late 70's. Something I just had to try. Went for a couple years. Never got severely hurt but enough to know it was time to quit.

It's not the flight, it's the landing followed by the stomping,

My career was in concrete contracting. The last bull I rode I wound up under him after the whistle. I came out of it pretty good but he did step on my knee. That brought it home how big the risk I was taking of ruining my career. I'd also went as far as I was going to go in bullriding.

Brittany Chuckerman, any chance that that pic is Thermopolis WY? Our family reunion was there several years ago and we went to the rodeo. One of the saddle broncs decided after bucking off his rider that staying in the arena was only optional and went up and over the six foot fence. A miracle that no spectator was hurt.

When I was in high school one of the bulls did just that. Ran down through town until he was gassed and they could rope him. Horses running on pavement scared me worse that the bull. I just knew their feet would slide out from under them...
