Roundup man arrested for poaching elk

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks game wardens arrested Earl Russell Benes, 23, on a $10,000 warrant. He has since posted bond and been released from jail.

Seems a "concerned citizen" came forward after the $3000 reward was offered. Regardless of how concerned they were, I'm glad they got a lead on someone. From the sounds of it, the guy was already known to FWP for running antelope over with his vehicle, and had hunting privileges suspended from that.

They will probably plea bargain some of the charges away and he won't get anywhere near what he deserves. I hope he gets the maximum punishment allowed by law.
