In a drinking establishment.
Stopped at my *watering hole* tonightt to meet a couple of freinds....
The owner/barkeep was talking to a guy and I overhead them talking about hunting in OR. The guy was talking about hunting so I introduced myself to him. Seems that we have the same things in common. It is as much (as least to us) sitting around a campfire and being able to *unload* the crap everybody has on their back and listening to the old timers of hunts past. After a short discussion found out he is from the *West Side* of OR, but wants to retire in the La Grande area in OR, or the Emmett area here in Idaho. Cool guy and has his priorities straight. As we talked both of us were on the same page as far as dragging the oldtimers up for their last hunt hoping that we had kids/grandkids willing to do that for us.
I am fortunate enough that I have one SIL and one grandson willing to do that.
Any of you old pharts out there lucky enough?

Yes sir...a fine son and son in law...plus 5 young grandsons if I live long enough...& I sure plan on it.

...thanks for the reminder. I'm a lucky man.

Yup NH that is our only hope in life, to make their lives as miserable as they have made our lives at times, but we still have to love them for who they are. We CANNOT solve everything for them no matter how painful, but be there to pick them up when they fall as my parents did for my Bro, Sis and I. I think you understand as a parent and grandpa. When it comes to grandkids, their unconditional love is what get us through some tough situations
As you said, "I am a lucky man.".

One day, I might be that old. Some mornings after a day of hunting, I am.

2 grandsons that want to hunt with grampa, and a youngest daughter that likes to butcher deer. I am a lucky man
