Tomorrow I pack the trailer, and Thursday we head from northern New Mexico to northern Idaho. Coeur d'Alene, here we come!
Slipping into retirement, not really sure what it holds, but hopefully there is enough fishing, hunting, and dog working to keep me busy (and out of my wife's hair).

Strange, getting to choose where I want to live, rather than having the paycheck make the decision.

North ID has more hunting and fishing than you could shake a stick at.

And obviously I don't know what route you're taking, but if you have the opportunity to travel 191 across the Uintas and along Flaming Gorge, do it. One of my favorite areas in between ID and NM.

Travel safe!

Good luck and safe travels to you and Annette.
Catch one for me and Dotti. Playing grandpa is the new you.
I hope to see you 2 again at the Rockin' Double J in the future.
Dotti has her red toy waiting.
Thank you for the friendship.

Hank

Congrats! I just spent the last 4 days in the Coeur d'Alene area and it is beautiful. I'd avoid Spokane more often than not, but all the lakes and outdoor areas to explore will definitely be there to keep you busy. I had this chicken fried steak at the Stupid Cow Cafe in Hayden, ID - and would recommend it. Have a good trip!

I'll say this. You're heading away from home. The best way to not get stuck working on at home projects.

Did that a few years ago towing a camp trailer, and had camped in the Uintas for a primitive rendezvous some 25 years ago. Beautiful country.

Hank, you are a treasured friend! We look forward to seeing you soon - fingers crossed you get a dozen tags and we can come down and watch the hunt!

Lord have mercy! Might have to check that place out, after I've lost another 40#.

I'm looking forward to some local sourdough bread. But a Stupid Cow sounds like my kind of place.

I feel like you could write a book on the best chicken fried steaks in the west 😀

I'll have to have a Largo CFS in honor of our friendship...LOL

Made it. Two trips White Rock to CdA, got in here with the UHaul van and my Xterra in tow about 0700 (weather in MT this time of year can look like winter in most places) after sleeping at a rest stop.

Unloading tomorrow (hired help).

Wondering how long it will take for me to give the heave ho to remote work and just retire....
