The Great HT 2026 weigh in.

Had a cheap one didn’t work very well. I sold it to a guy an was helping him set it up it was still way off. Some nutrition stores have them. Im surprised your doctor doesn’t have one
Never asked and don't have any future visits scheduled. The one I tried was on sale for $190 but damned if I could get it to work, even with tech support online giving me suggestions. I'll look around. It's not a priority but it might be interesting to see what's going on.

It may be worth trying some supplements stores and stoping in once a month or so. Given the stuff you hoped on im surprised your doctor isn’t trying to track what you’re actually burning off. The scale going down doesn’t always mean a good thing

Cast is off. 6 weeks felt like forever. Just weighed in and have lost 7lbs, probably all calf muscle weight lol. At least there’s lots of time before September. I’ll spare you the photo of how much dead skin was under that thing.

That is a very nice scar. The one on my forearm (two rods, 16 screws to stabilize a butterfly break on both bones) is nowhere near that nice even 12 years later.

How did you do that?

Crashed a motorcycle. Broke 7 bones in 10 places, concussion, life-flight, etc.

100% rider error, this was about 25 mph in a parking lot. Wrote off a whole lot of gear that day - it did it’s job for sure.

Been all over NA - from Prudhoe Bay to Key West, Cabo San Lucas to Cape Spear. Sometimes, life just happens. I still ride and still enjoy the heck out of it.

Something interesting I just did.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet of my weight since Jan 2, 2019. Weigh myself multiple times a day, most often right when i wake up and right before bed without any clothes on. During COVID I would do it sometimes 3-4 times a day cause I wanted to find patterns - lock down started some weird habits i guess. The spreadsheet tracks every weigh in with date and time of day weighed. Same scale the whole time.

I just put that spreadsheet into chatgpt, told it nothing else but my height and birthday and it gave me a remarkable amount of really interesting insight about myself metabolically and beyond. Among many interesting insights, it even guessed what my daily caloric demands are without me telling it anything about my daily activity levels and it basically got it perfectly when compared to what my Garmin watch estimates is my typical daily burn from heart rate data.

I don't imagine many people have 7 years of extremely detailed weight data like i do, but it goes to show the power of even the free versions of these AI tools. I bet you could glean a lot of good info out of it with even a fraction of the data i put into it.

1....you got problems. May need to seek help

2....my wife used chat to give her more of an whole food menu compared to what she was doing...same macros she is down about 5lbs in a few weeks where she had been stagnant for a while. It can be an incredible tool

I’ve kept mine on a google sheet since 22. I track my daily weight, my monthly average and my yearly average. It’s interesting to me to see how what i eat in a day affects my weight the next day.

And seasonally.

The hundreds of morning and nighttime weights allowed chatgpt to estimate my glycogen capacity and how that influences seasonal changes in weight based on how my activity shifts throughout the year and also helped it to able to give a pretty tight estimate of lean and fat body mass. It asked about stressful life events that it suspects occured at certain times which lined up with the births of my two children and nicotine cesssation, among other things.

It estimated many things about my physiology that are quite true. Fun exercise.
