Best thing I ever did. My wife is a Nurse Practitioner who sometimes shared her office with the hospital urologist that performed mine. We all joked throughout the brief procedure. All (including recovery) at most mildly discomforting. Took it easy for a day, no worries.

I had mine done about 45 years ago. 09:00 appoint. done about 30 minutes later. about 14:00 a couple beers took mommy to bed to start draining the system . Next day felt like nothing had happened.

51 yrs old, wife convinces ME to get the snip. Says we'll have more sex.......
I go to consultation and schedule appt.
Appt day, doc comes in the room, asks me my name, and even though we already did the consult, asks again why I am having the procedure. I tell him I'm 51, have 2 kids and not gonna have anymore. Oh, and my wife says we'll have more sex. He dryly says, Yea, thats what mine said as well....... I just laughed!
Given how things turned out with my wife, now ex, should have gotten up and walked out.
Make sure your in it for the duration, as nothing like taking away all the male of our species is created for to find you won't have more sex, and its not gonna last that long anyway.

Reminds me of traditional “I’ll be happy if’s.” Mines. My first marriage revolved around jobs, money, houses, cars and more. My second marriage started happy and not gets better. I thought I could make my first wife happy. I epically failed, and I’m better for it. I learned a ton.

Scheduled for the 13th of March……dreading every second until then. I’m 44, have 3 kids and about had an oopsie in November. I’m too old for all this shit.

It’s nothing. I’ve had a pile of surgeries and it was shockingly simple. Just follow Doctors orders then you’ll be fine. Shooting blanks has its advantages in these situations.
I didn't have my first one til 45, second at 47.

My buddy and his wife didn’t adopt his first until their 40’s. They’re very happy. I have another pair that has two daughters that are in there early 20’s, and then had a surprise a few years ago. They’re happy too. I can’t imagine the reboot… I’m tired just thinking about it.
