The big 18 and adult things?

You can’t cross state lines. You can drive in any state that rule is intended to keep you from long hauling not driving a line truck. Texas pay scale is trash and it’s kinda the laughing stock of the trade for skill set. I’d highly recommend staying away from that state
I thought you couldnt cross state lines and have a texas cdl and use it somewhere else but I always wondered how everyone else did lol. Are you talking union pay or non? I applied to all the groundman positions for pike and native and mastec but I think union is up around 55 or 60 a hour? Im not to sure. I always heard Florida or Georgia was the laughing stock of the trade

If you start driving in Montana you can’t drive across a state line in a cdl vehicle. You have to stay inside it but you can drive in any state you just can’t drive across the line it’s a weird rule but don’t let it deter you from applying in other states. I’d advise you only look for union jobs due to pay and training. I worked both sides of that fence and wouldn’t go back to non union job even if it paid more.

Union always made more sense to me especially being Houston is local 66 which ive heard has good work. Thats crazy on the license

What he said!!!! I say this from experience I'm 72 and should listened to one of my supervisors when I was in my early 20's. Start putting some aside from each paycheck starting with your first check. I didn't and the money I wasted is hard to think about without cringing. Temporary fun vs long term security should be a no brainer. But the young brain has a hard time thinking that way, at least mine did :(
I too suffer from poor decisions in my youth , but boy what a ride ! 😝

It really isn’t just because you have a cdl doesn’t mean you know how to do it. By making people not be able to travel across lines it makes it so they don’t take off in a big rig solo. I get a lot of new guys on my crew to kinda help them adjust to the size of the equipment and just being around it before we put them into a digger truck
