Took advantage of Schmalts's smoking VX3i 4.5x14x40 CDS Windplex offer. Shaved a good 6-8 oz. off the Kimber 300 Win Mag set up lowering the scope with Talley 2-piece low extended lightweights. It wore a 3.5x10x50 Zeiss Conquest with talley steel rings and extended medium ht.bases prior to retrofit.

180 Accubond recipe/data on way to Lupe for the dial. Easy peasy.

Every bit as clear as it's predecessor, easy fast focus, power ring easy to turn....Leupold's usual generous eye relief. Will know more after range dialing.

Nice ride noharley - thanks for posting.
Refreshing, a diy scope modification/upgrade and post.

Following up with pledged scope review.

Range session Sunday morning with home rolled ammo. 180 grain Accubonds/79.4 4831 tracked precisely to zero. 650 yard etched dial on its way.

Did some dusky comparisons against some newer VX3, VX6, and Swaro Z3....my eyes discerned no marked difference. I will say the 3i seems as clear as the VX6 and the Z3.... a bit sharper/brighter than an older Vari X3

*use the call back function when you contact Leupold as they are crushed with accessory and tech consultations at this time.
