Tell me about the Tikka T3

Its hard to beat the confidence of functionality and off the shelf accuracy you get with Tikka's. I keep going through various rifle brands and then circle round to swapping for Tikka T3's in desirable calibers, they just shoot. Plus they are in the sweet spot for weight for active hunters while still maintaining an accurate platform, plus they are highly customizable by a home smith. There is a cult following of which I subscribe.
Tikka’s are the best *precision rifle you’ll find off the shelf… w out dropping 5k for a custom, absolutely agree there

Another shameless plug for Tikkas. Clean cold bore shot on the right, dirty cold bore shot on the left at 400. Rifle is a T3x Roughtech 6.5 PRC with the only modification being a vertical grip. It shoots 140 grain VLDs at 3140 with the SilencerCo Omega 300.

I have the same rifle. If you’re a reloader 125 gr HHT shoot very well also.

Good to know, I do reload. Do you mind sharing your recipe?
Lapua brass, Fed 215 LRMP, 59.2 gr R26 (but work up to your own pressure) with the 125 HHT seated at 2.356 BTO.

Was holding a single digit SD with a 3280 fps average with the 24” barrel. @p_ham did a chop/rethread (miracle worker with the fluted barrel) to 18”. Still holding 3100 fps now, but also loosing unburnt powder out the muzzle. I’ll likely try a little faster burning powder like N565 or H1000.

For a production rifle that T3 is scary accurate right out of the box. A natural pointer, light weight and great balance.

My load data are in my father's shop (where we reload and shoot), but I started with 565 using the 136HH, and ended up getting better results using the 560. Same brass and primer. 24" barrel. Around 3100fps if I remember right. Im going over there tomorrow to shoot so I can update these numbers tomorrow if I remembered anything wrong.

I have three and they all shoot the 3 shot sub MOA guarantee with factory ammo. One is in a B&C stock, the other two are factory. All are set up for the three different animals that I hunt.

Ok for the money. Just like any other manufacturer. You have some great ones and some not so great.
