Tell me about the Tikka T3

I have a Tikka T3x Lite stainless, it shoots around .14 MOA according to a friend who developed a load for it. It is 1:8 twist and likes the 80 grain ELD-M.

I’ve got a rough tech 6.5 prc. Haven’t shot it a ton but it was boringly easy to get shooting very well. I’ve kicked around the idea of getting a different stock but it would seemingly be just a looks thing and not really function. I do plan to buy the tikka vertical grip soon

I'm the worst rifle hunter in the world.

I wanted a single "all around gun" so I bought a tikka T3 in .270WSM, put on good glass, good rings, mount, and a butt pad.
I've owned the thing now for 11 years, it still shoots way better than I ever can, and has killed a bunch of stuff.

It's killed coyotes, deer, elk, and steel out to 927 yards.

I'd buy another one in a heart beat.
Funny. I bought the exact same thing as you about 20 years ago and also splurged on good rings and glass. I load Barnes 130 ttsx for it. It’s the only centerfire rifle I own. It’s done everything I’ve asked it to do, from shooting the heads off of grouse to taking elk and moose. I hate the safety. Other than that, I love the gun.

I use to think Tikkas were cheap plastic ugly looking rifles. Now after seeing the accuracy, reliability, functionality, and ability to customize I have two. A 6.5 creedmore and a .223 trainer. Factory trigger is great. Easily adjustable down and safe. Still not a huge fan of the factory stock however it works good until you can upgrade. 243 should be a great rifle for what you are after! My 2c.. best of luck

I know a certain Sh-eels Sporting Goods store that has a sharp looking T3X (.30-06 I think?) on the used rack for a pretty good price.

I have 3 Tikka T3 rifles in 6.5 Creed, 30-06 and 7mm Rem Mag. They've all been very accurate, light weight, and reliable. Can't go wrong with them, especially for the price

I cant say on the shoot ability of my new tk3 superlight rough tech 7 mag due to i havnt shot it yet, but it has zero imperfections out of the box, bolt slides like butter and the trigger is fantastic. If it shoots have as good as it looks then ill be pleased

They are hard to beat. I have 3.
A T3 lite in 300wm, a T3x superlite in 308, and a T1x 22LR.

All are fantastic. You won’t be disappointed.
The 22 is great since it’s the same trigger, action, and stock as the full size gun.

I get lots of shooting time around the house with the suppressed 22, and the big gun feels the exact same in the woods.

Our household has 2 T3xs' 7-08 and a 6.5CM. Girlfriend shoots them both and is dead accurate with them. As others have stated super smooth actions. We did put on aftermarket butt-pads as the stock ones didn't quite do the recoil buffering for her liking. Can't go wrong with a Tikka.

They make them in 243 with wood stock too. You can have all the perks without a plastic stock if you so desire. If you couldn't tell im partial to not plastic stocks, especially at the price range tikkas cost
