Sunday Pic of the Day

A few pics from a day in woods chasing Rosies, saw a herd at sunrise , by the time I got there they fed into the Jungle and I had to let them go , and it was bow hiking the rest of the day

Found a new wallow , I will put a camera on this one before season starts next year , should get some great ones

and checked some cameras in the middle of the day, the cameras pics are to big to download so I have to screen shot them, these 2 bulls went past the camera 18 hours apart , the one in the dark had a herd of cows with it , the other one was solo , both are dandy Rosies

Came across an owl today in the Roosevelt Kingdom , I think it’s a spotted owl , But I’m not positive I don’t know crap about owls but I was able to get a really good picture of it I was driving down the logging road and it flew out of the tree went 50 yards farther down the logging road landed in a tree and looked at me and I drove up and I didn’t fly off and I got out of the truck at like 20 yards from and it stood there and let me take a picture of it pretty cool experience

I caught this fern in the color change, prior to start curling up, and seasonal death. From my observation the color change to curling process takes about two days. It was kind of interesting to look at up close. A highly carcinogenic plant from what I have read and can make you sick from eating them. Now I understand why I never see deer feeding on them.

EDABC8F6-88F1-4C06-B060-2793EE32B7EC.jpegJust slipped into the thick reprod and Heavy brush to walk an elk trail , and crossing a small creek in early morning, you see these , and the the question in your mind is just how long ago was that , minutes or hours??? I had been stocking a five point bull with one cow and they dipped behind a little knob and cut into the timber 100 yds or so from me and so I was trying to figure out exactly where they went in and there’s only one elk Trail in the back so I knew I was gonna walk that , he slipped into the timber to the just right of that trail but I still walked it but it was pretty tense few moments! It’s only a black bear , But knowing we had super heavy rain for 70% of the day prior they didn’t end until late afternoon I knew those tracks were in the last 12 hours, But my feeling was they were earlier that morning or not long before I got there never did find the elk and then walked the elk trail through the woods and had a trail cam in a meadow on the other side of the canyon and there had been a herd in front of that camera from 6-7 AM when I was stocking a bull on my side of the canyon at 7 AM it was a fun morning.

the heavily used elk trail I slow walked around the canyon
