Finally caught one- a lot of skunks lately.

Finally caught one- a lot of skunks lately.

My wife and I were paddling somewhat locally this morning. Mid morning there was alot of fish working surface/ sub surface. The people fishing were not having steady action.
It can be tough. Lots of insect activity but fish being selective.

The Osprey is a complex versatile tool.
The fast Apache is really cool.
The Blackhawk is a utility and really neat.

But as a proven vertical lift ... the UH-1 Iroquois HUEY can’t be beat!

I wrote software to do rotor smoothing on all of those.

One worth waiting for! Beautiful fish, thanks for posting. Why did they need to evolve such elaborate coloration? I suspect the Creator was just reminding us who is really in charge.

I wrote software to do rotor smoothing on all of those.

Bless you, Wildabeest! Back in the day in Vietnam, prior to "software", we had a taped flag on a pole which would be eased toward the rotor disk, with fresh red marker on one blade tip and black on the other. Then the mechanic would adjust rotor blade connecting rod bolts a few turns to bring the tips into the same plane, to smooth the rotor vibrations. I would then test fly the Huey to determine smoothness once alignment was achieved. We would place bets on how many bolt turns it would take to achieve smoothness.
After successful test flight to certify smoothness and air worthiness, I always took the mechanic crew up for a flight to complete an engine topping test ... often reaching ten thousand feet altitude, which was a cooling relief for all aboard. Then I would abruptly bottom the pitch and enter autorotation. It was kinda like driving a Cadillac off a cliff ... with the FNG mechanic being suddenly thrust into the tight extent of his seat belt, with the experienced mechanics laughing as they knew what I was up to and had tightened their belts.

My youngest grandson graduated the Navy Boot Camp on Thursday. I've referred to him here as "little shit" with a couple pictures of some of his deer he's taken. He's still the "little shit" even though he completed Boot Camp as an E3.
