I'm still hunting the same ol' ducks at my lake here and killing less of 'em. Last week, I cooked the breast meat of a ruddy medium rare in a deep fat fryer and dipped it in a mayonnaise and horseradish sause and it was very tasty.
We killed six this morning here by the house. There were actually more ducks than I expected. We shot two widgeon, a gadwall, a mallard and two woodies. Not a bad hunt for the first of the season.
Finally got a lease deal settled in SEMO (unless you hunt public areas or CA's with draw, you lease in SEMO....kinda like Arkansas or LA)....season opens Nov 3.....now if farmer will just get beans out and start pumping up field....
