Is anybody here good with statistics? I used to know how to do this, but it's been too long and I don't remember. Here's the scenario:
I want to apply for a deer permit, and an elk permit, in a particular state. The odds of drawing the deer permit is 1 in 6, and the elk permit 1 in 9. What are the odds of drawing BOTH??? I don't want to draw both, but would like to apply for both, which gives me better odds of drawing just one. I know it's not that difficult to calculate this, with a scientific calculator, but I'm too lazy to look up the formula. I haven't had to do statistics for over 10 years, since I was in "collage."
Thanks in advance! How 'bout you Moosie? You can't spell, can you do math???
If nobody on this board can give me an answer, I'll be forced to go to a "smarter" board, like Monster Muleys....
