#squirrelshape

Iron sights! That squirrel will taste much better than average as a result.

Sadly, my new home range is not the land of great tree squirrel hunting.
I didn't realize how much I would miss squirrel hunting when I moved from the midwest to WA. It has me contemplating paying the $150 for a NR base license while I'm back home in MI for Christmas, but I haven't gotten that desperate yet.

Seems like some states might be having non resident licenses that are real short right around the holidays for people exactly like you. But I don't know anything about michigan.

Huh, I didn't even consider a short-term small game license, I didn't think that existed in MI but it does. I could get a 3 day for 50 dollars or a 7 day for 80. That's a bit more palatable. Guess I should have checked a few days ago!

Next year!

My daughter shot at a few in her pawpaw's backyard today. I can only imagine what the squirrels are thinking with a giant beaver with a shotgun shooting at them.20251224_131952.jpg

We used to hunt them with dogs before moving out west. Here’s my son on one of the last hunts that we did. IMG_2677.jpeg
