Just had a couple questions for all of you. I drew a 700 tag in MT and was wondering if that supersedes my general elk tag or if I can shoot a general elk and my 700. First time drawing a tag. Also if anyone you hunted in 700 region, is it best to access canyons and draws by boat or is there plenty to access off foot without having to bring the boat. Thanks!

In Montana, an elk permit is used with your general license to allow you to kill an elk in 700. It is not a second license and you can’t take two elk.
