Same story plays out across the united states for whatever. Whitetails in my area. There is a guy from Michigan that buys every farm near me that comes for sale. 27 farms and counting, $6000 per acre. He seems to be good dude, just mega rich.

What state ?

Well - im sure all the residents appreciate fatcat out of state landowners hiring a guy to convince people in the legislature to go against things like modest and reasonable NR fee increases.

There are some huge duck clubs in this neck of the woods. They buy farmland with water, and then implement the most bizarre “farming practices” you’ve ever seen before flooding part of it.

Duck clubs are big money game thats for sure. I'm not defending baiting whatsoever, but the whole flooding corn being legal while dumping corn in the water is illegal has always really pissed me off. They should both be equally illegal.

Agreed. I watched a combine running its header 4-6’ off the ground one day “harvesting corn”. A week later the field was flooded.
