Sooo…..anyone try this or own one? Seems like something fun to add to the shooting range.

I’d say it’s about 40 yards wide. I’m not sure if it’s the exact same model but it’s a thrower that throws foam discs just like that. They were debating on getting it because of the cost. Last year they set it up at their annual shoot and charged $5 to get several shots at it with cheap recurves and long bows with flu flu arrows. I’m pretty sure they paid for it in two days.

Pros is it looks fun as hell.

Cons is its $1500.00 and when are you ever shooting at running or flying animals with a bow?

The ODWC had one for their archery in the schools program years ago when I was a intern. Spent many a afternoon shooting our bows at that thing and lost more than a few arrows.

Copy that. The grouse I’ve shot have been still. I’m to much of a tight wad to fling arrows off a mountain!
You use big heavy arrows with very large fetching so they are actually very easy to recover. You also learn to not even go full draw on the recurve as it doesn't take much to kill a squirrel, rabbit, grouse, pheasant, etc. What you do go thru is points. Either field point or judo take a toll when hitting trees or rocks

we used to just hide around the lilac bush, and throw them up for the shooter. this seems safer, but i could buy a new recurve, arrows, and all the equipment to set the thrower up safely for less than $1500...
