He said he had a ball
Day1 was a jake fest, called in 3 different mobs on 4 setups, he had one brief chance at a mature bird on the 3rd setup but no shot presented itself.

For the 2nd day we made a move to a new area. Morning started great. Set up about 200 yds from 3 gobblers and hens on the roost. Listened to them scream for 20 min before flydown. A few calls and they hit the ground running. Pretty quick 3 jakes and 6 hens were putting on a show 15 yards in front of us. I was surprised there wasn't a mature bird. One of the reasons we set up on them was we could hear hens going crazy. Goes to show you never know. Anyway my son decided to wait for a mature tom. Then it started to rain and things slowed way down. Finally found a receptive bird between rainstorms. Another goods shot at 25 yds

Id say the last few easy winters are coming to fruit. I saw more jakes this past weekend then Ive seen in the last 3 yrs combined. Bodes well for next yr.
