195 K2 and 205 Rossignols for me...liked the control of the shorter/wider skis but preferred the speed of the longer skinnys. I stopped all of it when the ortho doc advised. That's been a minute ago.

I lost my downhill chutzpa a couple years ago. Love love love cross-country though. Have 4 pairs of XC skis. Best days are on skis!

It’s like a box squat stance, not quite seated, but 120 degrees or so. Pow is cherry. On manufactured snow, you got to yeet that back foot hard to aggressively edge. Everyone biffs some of the time so get up and shred.

I’m an oldster, been a pinhead since the days of low leather boots and lignestone edges. I used to take pleasure in kicking the butts of my alpine friends.

Started in 1990..sold my alpine the next day. Nothing but since....though I have skied x-country for 50 years.

Hmmm...well I did break a leg at 5 years old skiing alpine gear. Lace up boots with some sort of cable bindings.
My first pair of x- country skis were wood ,similar to the pic. Still remember the dank smell of wet wool.

Same, except for the broken leg. My great-uncle was a WWI vet and learned to ski in Austria. He later operated our local small town airport and installed what he claimed was the first ski tow rope in southeastern OH there. We had a lot of fun out there, but the equipment was rudimentary at best.

Seems like Snowboarders and skiers get along OK at Disco, for the most part at least. Disco is a pretty easy going place, not terribly pretentious.

Bear trap bindings were boot top breakers.
