Small Stream Fun

Yesterday was a wonderful day to hit the water! I started with a double nymph rig with a Higas SOS and an orange San Juan worm

After about an hour on the water, a caddis hatch occurred and I switched to a tan elk hair caddis with an emerger dropper.

While the fish weren’t large, there was plenty of them and I called it a day after releasing #30.

What a great looking trout, those spots and color are perfect. I prefer to fish streams/rivers where I can cross back and forth if I want. I've have had some very memorable days when both the stream and the fish were small, but the adventure was grand.

probably, but if it catches, I fish it. An EHC on my 2wt can keep me happy all summer long.

This little stream is maybe 20’ wide at the widest point - perfect for me and my 7’ 3wt.
