SKRE vs. KUUI vs. SITKA vs. First Light

OP, what do you already have? Where do you hunt most of the time?
Sorry just saw this. I mostly have insulated hunting clothes for sitting in a deer stand here in MI. During early season I just wear some camo pants and a long sleeve shirt. Not much of what I have is going to be useful out west.

Base layers:
Merino wool by First Lite or Black Ovis.

Insulation/mid layers: Sitka

Puffy layers: stone Glacier or Kuiu.

Rain gear: stone Glacier or Kuiu. (Packable)
Heavy duty: Helly Hansen

Socks: Darn Tough merino wool.

Don't worry about camo. Go with green/grey tops and brown bottoms and go hunt in confidence.

Merino undies and base layer. Merino can't take a beating but doesn't smell. Non back packing you can just wear synthetic layers.
Waffle fleece, military surplus are a great deal.
Puffy any brand.
You can get non hunting gear at a great price. Elk don't care as much about sound, I'd check the pants though, some nylon is loud.

I was a climbing guide and hunting gear is usualy a couple years behind, twice as expensive but camo. Outdoor research has a lifetime guarantee.
