Should I bed Bada$$ McGee?

Finished putting together my new rig. Tikka T3x Wideland 6.5 cm in Veil Camo with extended stock and soft pistol grip. I put a Vortex Viper HS 4 x 16 on top with Sako rings. McGee already shoots sub 1/2” groups with Hornady High Performance 120 grain GMX. This is by far the nicest rifle I’ve ever owned. I’ve glass bedded one rifle on my own before, but it was an old Ruger Mark II. Is it worth bedding it? Are there any risks

There are always risks. Poor planning can leave you in a quandary. I’m in the can’t hurt camp too, depending on your skills and confidence.

If you are confident in your bedding skills it wouldn’t hurt to bed it and would provide consistency to your rifle.
How many rounds have you run through it?

I broke it in using 1 of the 256 million strategies I researched and have now been taking it to the range and on walks. I believe it’s at about 50 rounds.

I did one before and it turned out really well. I am mechanical and an Anxious OCD artist. I’m scared to f@ck up such a nice rifle though.

If it shoots sub 0.50" with factory ammo there is no reason to bed in my opinion. If it was shooting 1"+ or if it was a wood stock (which shift more with weather and age) I would bed, but the synthetic tikka stock is plenty stiff and it is shooting great out of the box, no reason to mess with success.

Generally I bed all my rifles. have three right now I haven't. 30-06 is a 1903 Springfield with a badly pitted barrel. Shoot's 1 1/4" groups and good enough. Have a 6.5x55 in a Mod 70 Featherweight that also runs just under 1 1/4", good enough. Have a 243 Mossberg Patriot that goes close to 1/2" out of the box, ain't fooling with it! You got a 1/2" rifle? I would not even consider messing with it!

Plenty of risk in messing it up, depending on your skill and experience. Shooting like it is, I would leave it alone and enjoy.

The top and right were adjusting site, and the three on the sticker are a group. Thank you for reinforcing me to let it be. I haven’t measured it, but it looks good to me.

People usually bed their rifles to get the groups you're already getting (y). I wouldn't fool with it unless you see the accuracy degrade.
