Thanks guys. Here is the extended directors cut.
We had a forecast for nasty weather off and on today so I was a little worried it would keep things quiet. Very early I saw the bird I killed strutting in an open field on neighboring property. By the time I got set up I couldn't see him any more but heard a couple gobbles from nearby trees. I sat for about 10 minutes and a lone hen popped out and was calling a bunch getting my tom plus another I never saw all fired up. My bird came back into the field and started strutting for her, but she was uninterested. She gradually fed into the trees where the other gobbler was sounding off leaving mine in the field strutting by himself. I grabbed the box call and gave a sequence. He was 200 yards out and started right for me. At the fence separating the properties, about 100 yards out, he hung up. One more sequence though was all he could take and he crossed over. When he got to 45 yards he started circling wide so I figured this was as close as he was getting so I let him have it.
Now we are hunting for a bird for my pregnant wife!
