@AlexRMEF We just did both last week. Alaska air cargo for 618lbs from Kodiak to anc with hazmat was $425. A 68 lb cooler of meat checked on Alaska airlines from Kodiak to Minneapolis was $100. 618/425= .69 $100/68=.68

Reviving an old thread. For those going to AK in 2026, just be aware, Alaska Airlines has changed their baggage fees and bringing meat home as baggage just got a whole lot more expensive.

Has anyone used United airlines or any other when bringing meat back as checked baggage?

Their fees are about the same as the new Alaska fees.

Ok it's the overweight/oversized that changed. I just looked at normal baggage like our fish boxes were. No change there with the Alaska card.
