I truly would not be surprised if Alme still pulls more than 50% of the vote, or at least combined with whoever the libertarian is will push past 50. Our state has really swung right of late, and I bet a lot of people show up and vote. The shenanigans between Bodnar and Bankhead may have all been for naught.
We’ll never get to know what would have happened if the dems had been on the same page from the start and not lost the plot for the sake of their own egos.
Bankhead is actually a poor example of a democrat. She’s said if you are poor it’s your own fault. She’s weak on abortion. She even voted for McCain instead of Obama.
I have to wonder what would have happened if she did drop out. Her replacement — and there certainly would be one — probably would have been a “better” democrat, which would have drawn even more votes away from Bodnar.
Maybe she’ll do the right thing and drop out now.

That’s a good platform for trying to win an election as a Dem in a right-leaning state.
Re too late, as I just explained, if she dropped out before the deadline she would have been replaced with a more qualified Dem, making it even harder for Bodnar to win.
If she dropped out now her name would still be on the ballot, but most people would know she’s not running and not vote for her.
I don’t care if she won her primary. If she’s concerned about the Senate seat she should drop out like the D candidates in Idaho and other states.

Her concern and your concern probably doesn't align. Maybe she's staying in to make sure Bodnar doesn't win. I wouldn't be too happy if someone was trying to take my spot.
If Bodner had run through the Democratic primary (which he essentially is apparently, otherwise he would impact both competitive candidates more equally), this could have been figured out.
Now it creates a huge disadvantage for both of them. It’s hard to fault Bankhead in this situation imo, Bodner kind of brought this scenario on himself.

While this isnt explicitly true.... It is true that you can make choices into being poor or not being poor.
Dems, especially federally, like to pretend income mobility is impossible and we need to fundamentally change how the economy works. That doesnt sell well either.

Tell me why you think she isn't electable? What position(s) are all that far off from what Montanans think? Look at the websites of her and Alme. Throw Bodner in for completeness. She has a list of 30+ items where she explains her views, which is rare. Bodnar has a half dozen broad categories, also rare. Alme has almost none and just throws out the general Montana Values, Safety, Etc. I can't find him posting anything specific. He literally thinks he doesn't have to explain his platform to get elected. Is he wrong?
BTW I agree she has zero chance, but I like to hear why voters think she has zero chance.
