Love the 99!! Good work on the refinishing, its beautiful!

The BLO finish takes upwards of 10-20 coats depending on the wood and other variables. To increase the reds, add some Alkanet root to the BLO and let it sit for at least a month, shaking it once or twice a week. Then apply after straining the alkanet root out. A very time consuming process but it produces a traditional red finish like you'd find on british guns.
