I recently built a .308 on a Savage 110 Ultralite receiver. My goal with this rifle is to be a well-rounded, LIGHT WEIGHT, mountain rifle. So far, it fits that purpose. But I had an oldish factory stock leaning in the corner I used, just because it weighs practically nothing and... there it was. After a handful of trips to the range, I've decided I cannot deal with the stock. I've used some cruddy factory stocks in my day, but this one has got to be the worst.

So, any recommendations on a replacement stock? Remember, key word is: LIGHT WEIGHT.

I have two for my Tikkas. Tried one, liked it so much I bought another.

Unfortunately I’m in the same boat as you. I wanted a pure precision altitude but they quit making it. I think the stocky’s posted above is probably our best bet.

People reinforce the plastic stocks with epoxy and arrows.

Otherwise, I'd look at the MDT stocks.

Struggling with this same thing here. The cheapskate in me wants to fix the stock with a bunch of different cheap fixes but time and hassle is really probably worth just upgrading stocks. I like that the savage stocks are light but that’s about the only good thing about them.
