Rut hunt CO

Hello- Myself and hunting partner are planning a muzzleloader hunt next fall in CO. How important is it to perfect bugling? I am struggling to sound consistent. Any advice is well received. Thanks in advance.

Not necessary at all really. Let them tell you where they are and then sneak in and blast one. Not like you have to draw them into bow range.

Knowing when to call and when not to is as important if not more than sounding perfect.

Just work on a locate bugle and it doesn’t have to be perfect. The rest is pretty unnecessary really.

The worst sounding elk calls I’ve ever heard were made by elk.

Please do not plan to bugle at all on public in Colorado. Not needed, actually often counter productive.

I find cow and calf sounds more effective than bugles for finding and enticing bulls.

just go watch you tube videos of the guys that bugle every 100 yards

then do the opposite of what they do
