Rubs. Let's see 'em!

I can remember two good ones I’ve come across the last five or so seasons. Came across one while still hunting in a big deer unit. He really went to town on a 5 inch diameter tree, to the point the trunk was splintering, low branches all gone. If elk existed in that unit Ide have thought it wasn’t a deer. Definitely slowed my step a little after that.

1 of my pear trees 30 yards from my house took a rubbing this fall even through a wire fence. I got the last word though the 2nd day of gun season!

Jeez, I've never seen one like that. Is it a fence post? How many years of rubbing?

It’s an old fence post, it has been there forever but I only noticed the rub about 3-4 years ago.

Unfortunately, I don't have pics of most of the better ones I've seen.
Here is a fence post the deer always seem to rub on. The buck was shot right near the fence post. Notice the cut in the top of his nose. I don't know, but it seemed possible he may have cut it on the barbed wire while making the rub.

Great rub! I've seen alot of things used as size reference in a hunting picture, but never a beer can before!

Yeah, that's pretty redneck of me, but to my defense I wasn't hunting that day. Just out checking fence on the farm. A guy gets thirsty ya know.

This rub showed up in my backyard two years ago. Never thought we’d have deer problems when I bought the place.
