RIP ?

I believe I've told this story before but one more time can't hurt. My uncle owned a honky tonk in Paris TX called Robert Allen's in the 80s and 90s. Toby keith, cross Canadian ragweed, and Mr David Allen Coe all played regularly at his bar and more. My uncle and David bonded over a shared love of womanizing, hard drinking, and booger sugar. One year Mr Coe attended my uncle's Christmas eve party and proceeded to get rip roaring drunk until he had to be escorted to a couch in the den where he could lie down. In this den was their family Christmas tree and gifts all arranged for the next morning. When my aunt went back in to check on him there was a yell then she angrily shouted BOB my uncle's name. Mr Coe had opened the majority of the gifts until he found his Goldie locks a hillshire farm sausage and cheese set. He had apparently eaten the set and passed back out. RIP you crazy SOB!

What a great story!!!

Is it possible for people to just not have an opinion on things anymore? Or does everyone feel the need to have one and share?

My wife’s maiden name is Coe.
She once burned her finger and said ‘dangit’!
I lost a lot of respect for that lineage that day.

Some of his stuff was a bit rough so I avoided it, but, I listen regularly to a couple songs you can find on radio. The one song is truly perfect. If that ain’t country…
