Maybe I shouldn't recycle pics, but you don't see rimfire specific threads very often, anyway here they are again. Ruger 10/22 John Deere

Question: Have you ever had a significant decrease in a rimfire's accuracy after cleaning? I was out shooting my Savage .17HMR with my son, it was shooting good groups but we noticed the scope was a little loose. We tightened the scope and decided to clean the gun good while we were at it, since then the groups are 2 to 3 times larger. We've shot at least 100 rounds since cleaning, but the groups just aren't as good. I'm not sure if we somehow messed something up or if you just don't clean rimfires?

Check to make sure you did not put a nick or burr on the crown. That is the biggest overlooked thing when cleaning a gun. Use a rod guide always

H&R 976 - 10 shot 22 lr. This one was my maternal grandfather's who passed it down to my father & then on to me. I need to get the rear blade replaced but am having some difficulty finding the right part.

How do you keep all the blueing on those 22 handguns ?

The Super Single Six dates back to when Johnson was president, probably carried it hundreds of miles in an old "hunter" un-lined leather holster.
The MK 1 is newer, dating back to the mid 70s. I have carried it a fair piece as well.
Both still shoot good, better than I can.

My kid loves that MK 1 pistol, but today he learned the joys of a scope sighted rifle. Nothing within 50 yards was safe.

Teaching Mr. Man how to use a scope...

Never an issue before as everyone in my family was right handed, but I do now wish they made a lefty 10/22...
