Relax, Everything is Going to be Okay!

But also, CC machines ask for a signature and yet, you can just scribble and get by that check. Yet, they still “require” a signature
That is for determining who has the liability if there is fraud. If a signature is required it is the CC company, if it is not, it is the retailer. You are correct though, it is not checked. Also not checked is the signature on your checks. The largest banks stopped doing that years ago.

You know what signature is checked? A ballot. You can google that.

Ok. Sorry. Not following your comments at all.

Edit to add, where are your real people?
I was just responding to your previous comment. Maybe you didn't mean to make it.

"If you’re claiming these are facts without sources, can you please list what credible sources you are citing."

How dare I use real people ... as I said, a non-serious question by you.
Where are those people getting their news? The same way? There’s a reason the game “telephone” is fun and comical. What if they’re getting their news from *gasp* CNN. I also think trusting the community “policing” of Twitter became less reliable when they started banning actual journalists and allowing actual self-professed nazis.

Not the same at all. If my friend tells me something that they saw with their own eyes, or I see it with mine, I generally view that as truth. I don't have to go ask a media outlet if what I saw is what I saw.

Maybe you don't. ;)

Man you are lucky. All of your local, national, and world news comes straight from your friends eyes. You have a aspirational group of friends.
😉😉😉😉😉

Please explain how this is a non serious question without using your odd rhetorical response.

All of your responses use some form of deflection. Friends or no friends. Sources or not. Provide something even 25% concrete.

Not necessarily. I’m genuinely curious.

I have a journalism degree, the photography side though.

There is an actual Journalism Code of Ethics. I do think it’s been rapidly eroded in the past 15 years or so. But more do to with the proliferation of 24 hour “op ed” news programs that parade as journalists; CNN, MSNBC, FOX.

Most credible “main stream” news sources, whether left, right, or non partisan can’t just frequently populate lies and conspiracy theories without being reprimanded.

Sure, they can’t say some of the asinine obvious lies that you see in social media but it’s still propaganda by selectivity and angle of how things are reported. Integrity and the main stream media aren’t in the same ball park right now. Why did CBS get acquired and Bari Weiss get appointed as the leader? Ain’t because she’s the best journalist or leader. Same reason the same people bought tik tok..

A quote I’ve been reminding of a lot lately:
a Soviet and an American are seated next to each other on a plane traveling from Moscow to Washington DC. The American says, I have to hand it to you, your propaganda is very impressive. The Soviet smiles and thanks him but replies that it’s nothing compared to American propaganda. Confused, the American tells him, “but we don’t have propaganda.”

The Soviet smiles and says “exactly”

Agreed. And that’s why I mentioned the part about the 24 hour news cycle with the affiliates listed. They’re out for ratings.

I don’t watch or pay attention to what they say.

@IMNT If I could here are the sources that I use. I like squawk box and Charles Payne for business news Charlie Gasparino used to be on more but I do not see him quite as much. For politics I really like Mark Halprin especially when Dan Turrentine and Sean Spicer were on the show it was a good mix although they talked more fro a strategic stand point. Halperin is interesting and definitely has his moments when calls out the established media. Lately I have been reading a lot of what Batya Ungar Sargon has to say as much of what she writes and says I tend to agree with. Charlie Kirk I liked a lot although I disagreed with his staunch pro life stance. Personally I prefer to read vs pod cast although I have enjoyed Shawn Ryan and Winston Marshall. I do get info off of twitter all it is opinion driven but you can get perspectives from alll sides if you can filter out the crazies. I feel like I get a fairly diverse sets of views points. I also like to see the Forbes clips that are on YouTube,No Facebook. Where do you get your information from. It was a good question

Thanks for putting this out there and being honest. The only name I
recognize from your list is Charlie Kirk. I will look up the other folks.

I’m more of a traditionalist having grown up in the era of local news and newspapers.

I first look at The Daily Interlake, The Great Falls Tribune, The Missoulian, The Flathead Beacon, The Montana Free Press, and NBC Montana.

Next I turn to national news; the Associated Press, NPR, Fox News, The Hill, National Review, NY Times, NY Post.

I try and take in news from both conservative and liberal sides.

Folks can mock me all they want, I just can’t buy into the social media/podcast only news sources.
