The recoil really isn't brutal. Stiff, yep. Just don't shoot one uphill into the morning sun. Greatly diminishes eye relief. mtmuley

Stock can/will make a huge difference there.
If the stock were like my Mauser with B&C Medalist, or my Forbes 24B, on my Stevens 200 with 24" E.R. Shaw barrel in 250 Savage, my daughter might actually shoot it.

I'm not too worried about recoil for our OP.
Especially after watching kid at range shooting Weatherby Mark V in 300 Weatherby. Guy let me shoot it. Wasn't anywhere near as bad as my 250.

Man i need a better stock! Lol
