We both drove because I had to get back to work. Go park and walking back we see a single land in our decoys. Keep walking and the goose just flies to the far side of the decoys and sits down. My buddy gets to his blind pulls out his shotgun, loads it and stands up. Goose doesn't even look at him. I have to wave my arms and yell for it to even stand up. Finally it decides maybe something isn't right and tries to fly. Easy shot, dead goose. Never seen a goose act like that before

I never ate goose is it good?

I crock pot goose breast and love (almost) every bite. Most bites are as good as good prime rib (but it is not "rare" like prime rib). A few bites off the same bird will give off a distinctive cow's liver taste......not that I don't like liver, just surprising coming off the same bird.

Nemont, You've got it made. It has snowed here all day. Hopefully we will have fresh birds after this front. I hope to get a couple days of good duck hunting in before it's over. Goden eyes are my friend. Was the goose that would not fly healthy?

I have had that happen a few times, they are usually first year birds and they just are waiting for everybody else (decoys) to fly. Makes for easy birds. We have gone to lunch and came back to decoys with 5-6 birds in the set and that won't happen they fly away pretty quick, a single you can kill them once in a while. Great job you guys have it made there. I am going on a 3 day hunt by Great Falls this weekend, can't wait.
