Quick Afternoon Hunt

Yesterday afternoon I couldn't resist taking Raina over to see if we could find some birds left over from Saturday's continental pheasant shoot on the farm. Sometimes I think the quick hunts stolen from the work week are some of the best. There is something special about just getting the dog, a shotgun, and sneaking away for a few hours. I enjoy hunting with friends and family, but sometimes it nice to with just me and Raina. It was alittle slow, but she was able to find a couple of birds and we did get a bonus. But all in all it was an afternoon with beautiful weather, good dog work, and enough action for dinner one night. Counting down the days until duck and quail season opens here. Excuse the photos, they are from my phone.

Great photos. I'm not sure my dog would know what to do with a rabbit. He'd probably eat it.
