Anytime you get a phone call during shooting hours from a buddy you know is in a stand, you know you’re in for a good day.
A good buddy went out this afternoon after work and put an arrow in a buck he called “tipsy” because his G2 tips almost touch.
I got a call at 5:18PM and my daughter and I ran off to the farm he was hunting. We waited for his gf, her daughter, and our friend to show up and we started the track.
This was my friend’s first archery buck and as you could expect he was all blitzed on adrenaline and couldn’t really tell much about what happened after the shot. While he and the kids were milling around I got on a blood trail and about 50 yards down I saw the buck. I took the phone out so I could video the reaction!
Don’t mind me sounding like a dumby. I was excited for him!
It was awesome watching him go through the second adrenaline dumb and I’m pretty sure he’s still flying in outer space.
It was great having the kids out there too. They were super into the blood trailing, watching me gut the deer, and then they sword fought with some of the legs…
