I recently found out that there is a small island off the coast of florida that has a population of sambar deer.Apparentley this island was once a game farm and all the animals were basically sitting waiting on a meal and people just picked one and shot it.The sambars didnt think this was such a great plan so they took off and adapted well to the island. The state of florida now owns this island and removed all the exotics from this island except for the sambars since they did so well. This island is now open on a draw basis for blackpowder and archery hunting only.I was hoping you could give me some pointers on how to hunt these things and what to look for in setting up a stand. Are they similar to whitetails in their eating and movement patterns. Most people cant draw these permits every year so i would like to make the most of my trip. thanks in advance
