Has anyone out there ever use this c mere deer stuff that I see Hank Parker talking about??? I was wandering how this stuff would work on our Blacktails out here,,,or if it works at all..

I've wondered the same also about all these food plot products and supplements and if they'd work on blacktails--- basically it's baiting IMO---still would be interesting to know if it works--I was watching a show yesterday and one of the big feed producers was with Keith(give me a pen) Warren and this guy said you need to run with the product for at least 3 years to get a good evaluation, so one do you have the time and place to do it to see if it really works------chris

yes, baiting.

just like the salt procucts.....differnt area's will have differnt results.
cmere deer is no differnt than dumping a pile of corn on the ground or apples. other than the price diff.

personally, i wouldnt waste the time to go look for the product....if you want to bait deer try feed corn, apples, sweet potatoes and carrots .....and see which one works the best in your area.

up north, i have seen deer eat carrots like it was a drug to them, they would run to it when we put it out.and then in the south east they dont eat them at all.

With the short deer season we here, I like to put the odds in my favorhump Its not that I don't like hiking in the woods, over deadfalls, creeks, and all the other fun stuff :D Its bringing that dead beoch out:BLEEP: over all that chit:BLEEP:

Corn and stuff:rolleyes: This is looking good...I might even try it for elk too...

Hunterman, over the years I have tried a lot of manufactured deer draws, none of them work better than corn, apples, sweet potatoes, carrots or lettuce. If your concern is a short season I would go with what you have as crops locally. Apples around here in the summer don't work because of the bees they attract, but carrots and potatoes, and lettuce does. Corn is ok, in the summer but not as good as the others. Our deer will walk past corn, potatoes and apples to get to the carrots. Corn is real good in the winter, after the acorns are gone. Apples are excellent after the first frost. I bait for rack development. All we have are pine trees around here, absolutley no farms in our area. Any manufactured product I have tried has been a failure, compared to using the stuff listed above.

Thanks Wiskers... I'm thinking about going down to the feed store and getting me some wet cob, and mix it with some rabbit feed that I have leftover and putting that out too,,what do ya think??(along with the carrots and stuff.)

C'mere deer works on mullies so I imagine blacktail would eat it too, but its exspensive stuff and really not worth buying, crushed corn works just as well.

Hunterman, I don't know of a single deer on the planet that isn't attracted to alfalfa. My kid sister is a veternarian, and she calls alfalfa " Ungulate Junk Food." My property in Northern California is situated overlooking two giant plots of alfalfa a couple of miles away. The deer run themselves ragged across our place going for the stuff, and this is one of the few ways we can detect them. I understand Washington has different laws concerning attractant feed, but here in California they really drop the hammer if the F&G Dept. even gets a slight inkling that bait is being used. Just another idea: I've seen deer eating corn/oat/molassas grain out of cattle feeders before. The smellyer the better.

If I ever resort to baiting deer or elk...I'll hang up the rifle. Jesus H....how much more advantage does a person need besides high-powered rifles, scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, gps, topo-maps, etc. etc. etc.

Make sure you have your cough-silencer and charcoal suit too when you put out the c'mere deer.

Better yet...go find an angus to shoot...oh, thats right you ARE!

What a joke.

Make sure you have your cough-silencer and charcoal suit

cough-silencer, check. would the fart muffler still be advantageous if im wearing the charcoal suit?

JB,

It could be...maybe hunterman can volunteer to not wear his depends undergarments while lifting a bag of c'mere deer out of the back of the '74 ford and see if the shit smell makes it through his scent-lok charcoal activated suit.

I'm thinking it simply makes Buzz's day to disparage other people....but, what the hell, I suppose I'm also impugning the fireside forum by stating so.. ;)

what are you guys talking about, i felt all warm inside when i read Buzz's reply. i think he was trying to be nice..

...go ahead & feed the alligator JB....but realize he's still gonna eat you last. ;)

Folks, that IS Buzz being NICE!!! You ought to see him when he's not. He keeps a little dog around the house just to kick to make himself feel better...
