So I just bought some 131 gr. Hammers for my 7RM. I really wanted to go with the 143’s but my rifle only has too slow of a twist (9.5). Anyways, I’ve got some RL 23 that I’ve used with the Barnes LRX I was shooting that works. I also have some RL 26 but I see that mostly 26 is used for heavier bullets. Would the RL 26 be too slow for that weight of bullet? What else would you consider?

Call Steve. Customer service at Hammer is Steve. In English. mtmuley

Your RL23 should work just fine.
RL26 will work, just not as optimal for the lighter bullets.
As always, start low and work up.

I too have been looking for a good bullet for my 7mm RM. I've settled with the 150ELDX with RL25. groups pretty well at good velocities....3100 avg fps. 26" barrel 10" twist.

I did talk with Steve. He said RL23 was a good one to go with, should be able to get those 131HH up to about 3400 FPS. Dad and I are going to do some loading on Monday so we'll see.
