Pool is supposed to open Saturday....... :)

Typical spring here, rain every other day and for the most part you need the heater in the morning and AC in the afternoon. About a week ago it was 31 degrees one morning and last Sunday the high was 86.

I sat outside with some bourbon and a cigar this evening. We are down to heavy rains now. Have multiple streams through the backyard. Still don’t know the extent of the damage, had everything packed for a range trip tomorrow too. 😣

That’s crazy. Is that percentage for the years total or how does that work?
Those numbers are to-date percentage of historical snow pack (snow water equivalent)

For work, we pay close attention to snow pack and weather patterns as I'm in wholesale electricity trading.

Looks like the wet pattern is breaking and will now warm up. It's getting spooky.

The SWE maps are kinda comical this time of year because they can fluctuate so much from day to day. That said, there is still a LOT of snow up high. From Hinsdale County tonight:

Hinsdale County is working with San Juan County to coordinate this year's Alpine Loop Backcountry Byway opening. A meeting was held last Wednesday night, with input from both Road & Bridge supervisors, the Sheriff's Offices, Emergency Managers, and administrators. Representatives from the Bureau of Land Management were also present. After discovering a 100-foot deep avalanche between Eureka and Animas Forks, San Juan County road crew is working on an alternate route and expects to be in Animas Forks by the end of June. With that information, Hinsdale County opted to re-direct the Road & Bridge crew to assist with pre-flood priorities and address lower elevation road issues. San Juan and Hinsdale Counties staff will continue to keep each other updated primarily through the Road and Bridge Departments and the Sheriff’s Offices. The Commissioners of both counties have scheduled their next work session to review the current conditions, future plans and coordination between the two counties will be June 20th.
