Right? The article mentions they monitored game cameras focused on the headless carcass for 4 months. Granted, monitoring means reviewing recorded content from the cameras, but they still spent a lot of time on it.
 
I am surprised a judge in NM would give that stiff a fine. they usually are pretty soft on criminals.
 
Nice to see an actual deterrent to poaching. Taking hunting privileges away is like telling a car theif they're not allowed to steel cars anymore.
