Yep, you're right on the shrike, it is a loggerhead.
On oaks pictures:
1. Phainopepla
2. ??? That one I'd definately have to look up. If I had to guess maybe a towhee of some sort?
3. Harris hawk
4. I agree with miller it looks like a widgeon mallard hybrid.
I think one of those birds is a blue spotted pecker pecker. These are birds to be avoided if at all possible. This is especially true if you like to go to nudist colonies. Nothing worse than waking up from a nap cuz a blue spotted pecker is pecking on your pecker.
I guess you're right about the shrike. Usually the black extends above the eye in Loggerheads, and I couldn't see the bill well. But I didn't take into account the fact that it's a juvenile.
All of these pics were taken in Tucson. Good call on the towhee. I could post another couple of quizzes, but doesn't look like there's many bird nerds out there.
