I am a non res who has hunted co. In the past. This year i have a choice to make re hunting elk or deer. Both choices involve the draw.my choices are elk season 1 gmu 3/4/5/301/441(e-m-003-01-r) or hunting deer season 2 gmu 35 d-m-035-02-r. My party has had some success in both areas but nothing big. I cant afford to hunt elk&deer. Any help would be appreciated. I will post virtually the same post on deer also. Than ks 2 big fin 2.

I'd hunt the one that I want to put in my freezer the most which means I'd be chasing elk. Possible to draw a cow tag then buy an OTC bull tag if unsuccessful? I didn't look to see if that's a general elk unit or draw unit.
I don't know much about your elk unit, but you shouldn't have a problem killing a deer of some sort in 35. 2nd season isn't the best but you can get an early storm in that area to shake things up. I believe there's some issues with private in that group of units with 35 but if you've hunted it you already know that.

man i ll just say elk every time over deer dont know much about the areas your hunting but elk elk elk taste better and theres more meat
